Personality[]
Due to his upbringing, Knave comes across as abrasive and unpersonable when first meeting others. He speaks his mind to a fault and has a habit of referring to even those who he is trying to complement in terms that they find somewhat insulting. Because of this, he is quickly and easily characterized as a punk and miscreant, someone that few were surprised became a pirate. He had become so used to this at the time of eating his Devil Fruit that he showed no concern upon being told that it would earn him the ire of the sea; claiming that he had already pissed everyone above the water off, and he would show the sea his mettle if it was that bothered with him.
He also tends towards crass or sometimes perverted-sounding jokes, leading to misunderstandings and comedic assaults upon his person.
In a case of nurture not equating nature, however, Knave possesses a burning desire to be understood and to connect with people. His vocal attitude and demeanor are merely the only way he knows how to act. His actions tend to speak louder than words, with the Wormwood demonstrating incredible loyalty and support for those he sympathizes with or considers friends/family. A very serious Knave is therefore a very quiet Knave, allowing the above.
Despite his simple- and singlemindedness, Knave is completely aware of and interested in women. However, due to his upbringing and sense of social interaction, he tends to express said interest in very blunt terms (including, on one occasion, outright stating he wanted to "mate" with someone) or ways that go against the general styles of courtship, such as violating personal space via a hug or more. By the same token, he has no qualms with fighting or hitting women, and indeed a girl who can "take a punch" makes him even more interested. Be they men or women, Knave feels confused and bad at once if they crumble beneath a single blow of his, fearing that he's offended them somehow.
As a child, Knave became very fond of comic strips featuring a pirate known only as the Hero of Hell. It is this figure that helped inspire him to take to the sea in the first place, and he will occasionally make references to it. It is also in tribute to this figure that Knave wears his signature scarf, though he will occasionally strike poses reminiscent of a certain superpowered hero.
Knave's favorite food appears to be insects and worms, regarding them as an excellent source of protein.
