The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Yanagi-Baba is a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a full or hybrid form of a Yanagi-Baba, making the user a Yanagi-Baba Human. The navy are having a difficult time finding this fruit as the previous user was rumored to be one of the old trees in their shrine area.
The word "Hito" is Japanese for person as in human. The English name of this fruit is the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Yanagi-Baba.
Appearance
The fruit resembles a Coprinus comatus mushroom (also called Shaggy Inkcap) with the cap area being a cloud grey and the stem being a wood brown. In each scale are black swirl marks around the cap as well as the bottom portion of the fruit. The dark brown stem has an end with 5 protrusions which gives it the image of a hand.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
The user can transform into a complete or partial form of a yanagi-baba; a tree spirit yokai. As a yamagi-baba, the user's skin is essentially tough bark that normal axes or blades can't easily cut open. The user in full form has twice the speed, strength and skills of a fit athlete.
As a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, the user has a supernatural ability related to their Zoan form. The user's main supernatural ability is merging with forests and two smaller abilities in normal full Zoan form. In full Zoan form, the user can either shoot a sticky sap from their mouths to trap enemies or expel fog from their nostrils to trap/blind enemies.
Whenever the user is next to a tree or something like plants, the user can merge with the vegetation. Once merged, the user can control the whole forest area as if the forest were their limbs. This is great for creating a homefield advantage or to attack an army of people all at once.
This fruit is considered superior to the Hito-Hito no Mi, Model: Jubokko.
Weaknesses
As a tree, the user is extremely weak to flames or anything else that can harm plants such as toxins. Stronger blades or weaponry will harm the user easily.
The user will run out of fog and sap eventually when used excessively.
If the user's tree is removed or destroyed, the user loses control of the forest and will feel the pain when the tree they are merged with is attacked.
The user suffers from the standard weaknesses of Devil Fruit users.
