The Sumuri Sumuri no Mi, Model: Koromodako is a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a full or hybrid form of a Koromodako, making the user a Koromodako Human. This fruit was last seen being shipped at sea but never arrived to its destination.
Sumuri is short for Katasumuri which is the Japanese word for snail. The English name of this fruit is the Snail-Snail Fruit, Model: Koromodako.
Appearance
The fruit resembles a candy red snail shell with protrusions at the bottom of the fruit that resemble small tentacles. Surrounding the fruit are black swirl marks with three smaller swirl marks attached to each larger swirl. The light green stem has a wavy end that resembles a tentacle and their are thin leaves around the stem of the fruit.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
The main ability granted by this fruit is to be able to transform into a complete or partial form of Koromodako; a small octopus yokai. In full Zoan form, the user is about 7 cm in size and if the user is of the female gender, they are 35 cm. As a octopus, the user has suction cups to cling to surfaces, can regrow tentacles, squeeze through tiny places and increase problem solving skills.
As a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, the user gains a supernatural ability related to their Zoan form. For this fruit, the user's mythical ability is versatile elasticity. The user can stretch their bodies 500 meters and grow their bodies to the point they dwarf large ships. This elasticity makes the user effective in reaching targets far away and to sponge powerful attacks. The user can even suck up large amounts of the air to create a vacuum to drag enemies and boats to their powerful beaks. The user can then use the air either temporarily float or to release a powerful stream of air.
As a carnivorous Zoan, the user is more adaptive and set for combat. In addition, the user's aquatic nature gives the user a temporary resistance to the ocean for 4 minutes.
Weaknesses
The user's normal size can easily be blown away from strong gusts of winds or passing waves. The user can easily be cut by sharp weapons and air can leak from the user if struck by a pointed object.
Once the 4 minute window passes, the user suffers their weakness to the ocean. The user does not gain this immunity unless they are in full Zoan form.
The user suffers from the standard weaknesses Devil Fruit users have.
Trivia
- The reason for putting this fruit in the Snail-Snail series and not a Octo-Octo series is due to both snails and octopi being mollusks. The word snail is short and personally a better choice than a name like Octo-Octo or Squid-Squid.
